Atlas Pipeline Partners shoulders the burden of getting natural gas from wellheads to major gas utilities such as Peoples Natural Gas, National Fuel Gas, and East Ohio Gas. The midstream company is engaged in the transmission, gathering, and processing of natural gas in the Appalachia and Mid-Continent regions. Atlas Pipeline Partners operates about 9,700 miles of active intrastate gas gathering and processing pipelines in Kansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. It also owns and operates five natural gas processing plants. Atlas Pipeline Partners' general partner is owned by Atlas Energy, L.P (formerly Atlas Pipeline Holdings, L.P.) In 2015 the company was acquired by Targa Resources Partners.
